McLaren<\/a> re-entered the consumer market in 2011 when they launched the MP4-12C (later shortened to just \u201c12C\u201d), the first production model<\/a> fully designed and built by the British marque. It was a hit from day one, impressing journalists and customers with a do-it-all dual personality \u2014 the 12C\u2019s clever suspension systems made it remarkably easy and comfortable to drive around town, but it performed like a supercar by every other measure. Its 3.8L twin-turbo V8 pumps out 616 hp, which takes the 12C from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and to a top speed of faster than you\u2019ll ever need to go (215 mph).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
