We\u2019re bonafide motorheads here at Turo, so you can only imagine our excitement over inducting <\/span>our first ever Ferrari<\/span> into the marketplace last month. And not only is it a Ferrari, it\u2019s a head-turning yellow Ferrari. Swoon.<\/span><\/p>\n

I recently caught up with Jim G., the proud papa of this spicy 360 Modena Spider, to hear about the car and why he decided to put her up for rent.<\/p>\n

A long-standing owner on the Turo marketplace, Jim has been renting out his cars in suburban Virginia for years. He has<\/span>\u00a0a <\/span>Porsche 911<\/span>, a <\/span>Chrysler 300<\/span>, an <\/span>Aston Martin V8 Vantage<\/span>, and now his Ferrari listed for rent on Turo<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

And why such a list of luminaries? Jim is a true auto enthusiast. \u201cI\u2019ve subscribed to Car & Driver since I was probably 10 years old,\u201d he recalls. \u201cGrowing up, I always idolized cars. I love the feeling of driving them,\u201d and now, \u201cthe feeling of renting them out,\u201d he says. \u201cI love the look on people\u2019s faces when I hand them the keys,\u201d he continues. His guests are stoked to drive his cars, and they\u2019re always \u201csomewhat nervous and very careful\u201d when he hands over the keys. Jim even gets under the hood and does all his own work. \u201cI\u2019m 13 years away from retirement, so ultimately I\u2019d love to transition full-time\u201d to collecting, maintaining, and renting out cool cars.<\/p>\n

And the Ferrari? He recently discovered it on <\/span>eBay Motors<\/span><\/a>, and ended up getting a pretty sweet deal for it. He bought it from a seller in California who owned a chain of barbecue restaurants, and it came fully equipped with the vanity license plate \u201cBBQ4RE\u201d. He tinkered with the idea of flying out to California and road tripping back, but opted out because of work obligations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Would it make a good road trip car? \u201cI don\u2019t know. Probably not. But it would be fun,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sound is amazing. There\u2019s aftermarket exhaust, the redline is above 8,000, and it\u2019s so light. It just sings. It\u2019s definitely my fastest [car] \u2014 you definitely get the movie star feeling, and can\u2019t get away from the attention.\u201d It also has a paddle shifter so anyone can drive it, not just those skilled with a manual transmission.<\/p>\n
