Jody J. lives in New York City, and kept hearing from all of her friends that there was nothing quite like New England in the fall. When her friend Allison came to town, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to clear her schedule, rent Damian’s Jeep Patriot over in Jersey (since Turo isn’t active in New York state), and wind their way through New England peeping leaves. Jody is also on a mission to visit all 50 states, so she figured, why not hit the road, and knock a few off her list?
Their first stop was Connecticut, to pose as Yale students, eat some iconic pizza, and visit the idyllic town of Mystic — of Julia Roberts movie fame.
After a quick stop in Boston to visit friends, explore an old cathedral, and wander around the Harvard campus, Jody and her friend Allison headed to Portland, ME. It was high on their list to hit the lighthouse and also have their first lobster rolls.
Then they were off to New Hampshire and Vermont, where the leaves really began to show their colors. They wound around mountain roads, and even stopped at an apple farm to get that true fall feeling.
