Kyle E. is a photographer, who travels all over capturing shots of the wilderness. Recently, he went to Washington State, to explore the Olympic Peninsula and adventure through the Northern Cascades. Washington had it all: coast, mountains, rainforest, metropolis, lakes, waterfalls. He and his friends wanted to see it all.
Kyle and his friends met up in Seattle to pick up Rebecca’s Land Rover, and headed to Lake Cushman, a glacial lake surrounded by cascading mountains. They made their way to Lake Crescent for on the morning of their third day. The classic Pacific Northwestern rain came in droves as they hiked through mossy rainforest to catch a glimpse of Marymere Falls.
The coast was next on their list. They bobbed and weaved through winding roads until they made their way to Cape Flattery; the most northwestern point of the continental United States. Justin had never seen the ocean before, so it was a pretty special moment for him.
The final coast day started out in Forks, Washington, the moody setting of the Twilight books and movies, where they dodged vampires and werewolves. They caught the beginning of a sunrise as they left their cabin and headed for La Push. After a brisk hike to Second Beach to catch the tail end of sunrise, they inched down the coast — stopping at multiple turnouts to gawk at the incredible beaches along the way.
