Turo member Johnny L. is a new dad with fond memories of galavanting in nature as a kid. He and his wife live in LA, and recently they decided that the time was right to take their son on his first camping trip. They planned out an itinerary that would take them own to San Diego for a cush night in a hotel before they headed out to the Palomar Mountains. Johnny thought this was the perfect occasion to rent Akira’s Jeep Renegade, a vehicle he and his wife had been thinking about buying for themselves.

In San Diego, Johnny’s son was introduced to the mesmerizing blue abyss of a swimming pool, and had the pleasure of picking flowers on the lawn near the beach. Everyone got a chance to enjoy lunch at Ironside Fish & Oyster.

They headed to a Korean market to stock up on supplies and headed into the mountains. As they climbed in elevation, the weather took a turn for the worse, and it was dark and windy when they arrived.

Find out what Johnny and his family did next in our latest Travelogue. And if you’re headed to the LA area, find the car you’ve been meaning to take out for a spin.
