Bringing the world’s largest car sharing marketplace down under

We’re thrilled to share that Turo will be opening for business soon in Australia! Starting today, local Aussie car owners can join the waitlist to get in early, be one of the very first Turo hosts down under, and qualify for exclusive launch incentives.

This launch in Australia marks our second international expansion this year, and our first in the Asia-Pacific region. Earlier this year, we announced our acquisition of French car sharing leader, OuiCar, as well as our long-awaited expansion into New York State after a piece of car sharing legislation was passed, enabling us to operate in all 50 states.

Turo Australia will be led by Tim Rossanis, who previously served as Uber’s Head of Growth for Retail & New Verticals ANZ. When the Turo marketplace opens for business later this year, Turo will be available in all major cities across the country, including Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Brisbane.

As the cost of living continues to increase, we’re excited to offer the opportunity for locals to build additional income streams and get some relief from the pressures of inflation on Aussie wallets. With domestic tourism industry on the upswing in Australia, fly-drive holidays are becoming a popular option for Aussies looking to stay local and elevate their experiences. With the summer and holiday travel seasons coming up quickly, Turo coming to Australia is a wonderfully timed opportunity for local car owners to share their vehicles and capitalise on this peak travel season.

We’re so excited to make this next move into the Australian market. Stay tuned for updates on timing, and as always, thank you to our wonderful community for your support and collaboration in making Turo the best car sharing marketplace it can be.
