Swift, captivating, refined
Fewer things embody the American spirit more than Ford’s Mustang. The iconic muscle car offers both handsome styling and liberating performance in abundance. With upgraded engine options, a radically redesigned interior, and must-see new features, a new Mustang generation has hit the streets this year, and early examples are popping up across the Turo marketplace.
With over 10 million units sold since its introduction in 1964, the Mustang is a nameplate globally recognized for its stylish looks, palpable agility, and accessible American rambunctiousness. The newest pony doesn’t disappoint. This seventh generation Mustang is currently offered in three trims: EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse, and as both a coupe or convertible. Starting with the EcoBoost, like Kyrylo’s striking yellow convertible, expect ample power from an upgraded 2.3L V4 turbocharged engine. The 315 hp in this base version will get you to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.

Level up to the GT model, offered in both automatic and manual transmissions, and you’ll enjoy a potent 5.0L V8 engine boasting 486 horsepower. The GT also introduces a Performance Package, like on Devin’s blacked-out coupe, that adds grippy Brembo brakes and a razor smooth suspension for bumpy gravel roads.

The ultimate trim is the brand new Dark Horse, which honors past Mustangs like the Mach 1, Shelby GT350, and GT500. This racehorse offers 500 horsepower with the most powerful naturally-aspirated engine of any Mustang and showcases unique aero kits, quad tip tailpipes, smoked lights, and an even meaner grille.
But perhaps the most exciting update is on full display from outside the car. The new Remote Rev feature enables all automatic transmission Mustangs to rev the engine from the key fob so you can experience its fierce growl while admiring the car’s aggressive exterior stance. And once you head inside the car, all the controls and screens in the Mustang’s new interior are angled towards the driver, as if it were the cockpit of a Mustang fighter jet. The main focal point of the redesigned interior is the massive, curved displays. As an homage to the cult-favorite Fox-body Mustang, the dashboard can be configured to digitally mimic the original gauge clusters of the third generation pony. It also showcases charming animations as you switch between driving modes, and each part of the dashboard is fully customizable.

In Bashar’s fresh Mustang GT Premium, you’ll find an electronic drift brake, which cuts stability off to the rear wheels for serious drifting maneuvers. Although you are not permitted to drift or perform burnouts in vehicles booked on Turo, this slick drift brake hints at the Mustang’s storied autocross history and is a conspicuous reminder of the car’s agility both on and off the concrete.

Behind the chiseled steering wheel, you’ll find all of Ford’s latest safety and entertainment technologies. The Mustang is easy to connect with, featuring CarPlay and Android Auto, a charging pad, USB chargers, and either Alexa or Ford Streaming for voice comments depending on your smartphone. Unlike some sports cars, Ford ensured the Mustang is equipped with its most advanced driver assistance technologies — including active cruise control, lane keep assist, backup cameras, and rear parking sensors. The new Mustang also comes with a pothole mitigation system, which stiffens necessary components to reduce the wheel’s drop into the holes.
Whether you prefer your Sunday drive in a sporty coupe or top-down convertible, the Mustang is ready to make your journey instantly more fun. It’s no secret that vintage Mustangs are a valuable breed, but the 2024 Mustang provides more power and features than ever before while also paying respect to beloved Mustangs of the past.
