Showing appreciation for our partners
Last week Turo hosted a lunch at the NoMad Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles to show love to our friends in the car enthusiast community. We invited a bunch of old friends and some new, including GoldRush Rally manager Aimee Shackelford. In attendance were YouTubers, photographers, businesspeople, and entrepreneurs from all corners of the enthusiast community — our kind of people!
The lunch was part appreciation for our partners, part celebration of the launch of Turo Go. Turo CEO Andre Haddad gave a warm welcome to the group, and photo services were provided by the talented Pavel Suslov. Each attendee was invited to book something exciting for the day to roll up in, and they absolutely did not disappoint. Meet our amazing guests and take a look at the whips they found on Turo!
Sean Lee
Sean is founder of the Purist Group, a collection of enthusiasts brought together by a shared interest in cars and motorcycles. We spoke with Sean for our Ask a gearhead series last year. He organizes meets and shows, working to build community through charity events and volunteer work — the Purist Group’s 2018 winter toy drive is this Sunday, December 9 at the Industry Hills Expo Center. Sean showed up in an ultra-rare Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series, which got the valets very excited.
Cody Walker
Cody is an actor and the CEO of Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW), a foundation that organizes and coordinates emergency responders to serve areas affected by natural disasters. ROWW was founded by Cody’s brother Paul and sends doctors and volunteers to bolster relief efforts as soon as catastrophes strike to make immediate, impactful changes in the lives of people affected by those disasters. Cody brought his own tastefully modified Honda S2000 to the lunch.
Rob Dahm & Erica Schrull
A two-for-one! Erica Schrull is a card-carrying Mopar aficionado and runs a YouTube channel that features all her automotive exploits and adventures. Rob Dahm also has a YouTube channel, where he documents his life as an enthusiast and entrepreneur. Rob owns both a Lamborghini Diablo and a Mazda RX-7, which we think is maybe the most exciting two-car garage we’ve heard of. Rob and Erica booked a sleek Jaguar F-Type R for the day — thanks for coming guys!
Huseyin Erturk
Huseyin Erturk is a superstar automotive photographer living in LA, and he booked this Porsche 911 in Sapphire Blue, a fantastic color. On his Instagram, Huseyin seems to always find the most interesting angles of the most interesting mechanical subjects, so give him a follow!
Taylor Garber
Taylor is the founder and CEO of Deux North Studios, a full-service design studio in Los Angeles. For the lunch she booked this exceedingly lovely 1995 Ferrari 348 Spider, which we think suits her very well. Check out her Instagram here!
Patrick Thiele
Patrick is the co-founder of Corsa Lusso, an automotive-inspired coffee company based in LA that specializes in small batch roasts (trust us, the coffee tastes good). With Corsa Lusso, Patrick somehow figured out a way to combine his two loves of cars and coffee into a single enterprise. He found this matte green Mercedes-AMG GT R on Turo and showed up looking like the Hulk’s lean cousin.
Victor Okunzuwa-Osawe
Victor is a fashion influencer and content creator — check out his Instagram for some of the freshest fits out there. Big congratulations to Victor for just recently becoming a father! Thank you for taking even a short break from the baby to hang out with us!
Ozzy Morales
Ozzy is a fashion and fitness content creator and photographer with a rockin’ Instagram page. He brought a rocket ship disguised as this Nissan GT-R with custom accents.
Rob Talbott
Rob is a founder of Disciple Records, a music label specializing in the wubs and womps of dubstep. Rob is always doing creative things for Disciple and finds Turo useful for getting cars to use for video shoots and events.
Ryan Greger
Ryan is an avid enthusiast and a budding young photographer from Southern California. His Instagram page RMG Autos is full of the most drool-worthy super and hypercars on the West Coast, so if you’re into expertly-composed shots of thousand-horsepower eye candy, Ryan’s your guy.
Steven Perez
Steven is an avid car guy and content maker at Turo. Between Golden State Warriors games he can be found getting lost somewhere in California.
