Turo member, employee, and true outdoorsman Alex B. decided to hit the road for a long, wintery weekend over Thanksgiving break to northern California and southern Oregon.

As the inventory manager here at Turo, Alex has the inside scoop on the best and the brightest of our new listings, so he rented Zack’s camper van right after it was listed on Turo since it was not only super photo-worthy, but also cushy enough for a car camping trip up north.

While the weather cooperated, the late November air up there was darn cold. He and his girlfriend Amanda kept warm by surfing in 5 mm-thick rubber and mountain biking for miles through fields of elk.

They navigated their way up to Crater Lake in south central Oregon, and then dipped back down into California to camp at the foot of Mt. Shasta.

Watch his short video mashup of their travels and get inspired for your own winter adventure.

While his next foray with Zack’s camper van, affectionately named the Beast and the Barnacle, will hopefully include warmer temperatures, his adventure and Turo Travelogue left us in awe of both the epic beauty of our chillier northern neighbor, as well as Alex’s prowess with viewfinder.
