The UK is home to more than 38 million cars, plenty of which spend a disproportionate amount of time sitting on our driveways. This festive season, we’re expecting to see much of the same, as families up and down the country prepare to return home for the festive season.

Safe travels

As expected, safety is at the front of many people’s minds as they plan their journeys home, trips to the supermarket, and more. With many folks seeking easier, safer alternatives to public transport, travelling with Turo has never been a better or more popular option.

Hosts who share their cars on Turo currently make £574 per month on average. If you know you won’t be using your car much over Christmas why not consider listing it on Turo? The money you make from sharing it could be used towards gifts for your loved ones (or for yourself — there’s no judgement here).

Fuel for your gift giving

We’ve done the maths, using the John Lewis UK Christmas Gift Guide as inspiration, to show you exactly what sharing some of the most popular cars on Turo could fund this festive season.

For her…

Share a smart-looking car like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and bag some smart-looking (and smelling) presents. List it for 10 days in December, with average earnings of £428,* and you’d earn enough to buy both the Coach Hutton Leather Bag and Tom Ford’s Black Orchid Perfume.

For him…

Share an all-time favourite like the Volkswagen Golf on Turo for just eight days in December, and you could make average earnings of £276. That’s enough to pick up both a Barbour Lorden Mac and the Philips Ultimate Grooming Kit.

And… For them

Don’t forget the little ones. If you shared your Range Rover Evoque with your community for nine days during December, you could make £540, which is enough to fund both the brand-new PlayStation 5 and the delightful LEGO Gingerbread House.

Thinking bigger?

If your car isn’t used regularly, why not list it for longer? Sharing a Volkswagen Golf for 11 days each month for a whole year would bring in enough earnings to buy every single item featured in the John Lewis Gift Guide**. If you’re sharing your Mercedes-Benz C-Class or Range Rover Evoque, this would drop to seven and six days a month, respectively.

If you think sharing your car with your community is something you’d like to try out this Christmas season, click below to start your listing.
