Teamwork makes the dream work, and Turo\u2019s got big dreams about boosting electric vehicle adoption. So Turo Canada recently partnered with the Quebec Electric Vehicle Association (AVEQ)<\/a> to promote EV adoption by amping up the number of electric vehicles in the Turo marketplace in Quebec. This represents our biggest EV partnership to date in Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The perks of partnership<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Any AVEQ member who lists their car on Turo will be eligible to receive $250 after they earn their first $250 on the platform<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since day one, Turo\u2019s had its sights set on building a sustainable business model by pursuing its mission to put the world\u2019s 1.5 billion cars to better use. The Turo marketplace maximizes the existing pool of cars available in communities, increasing access to both ownership and affordable mobility options and optimizing the overall ecological footprint of car ownership. By linking up with AVEQ, we\u2019ll be boosting the number of electric vehicles available to Turo guests across Quebec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Electric vehicles offer a lot of potential for sustainable driving, but uncertainty around their range has made drivers a bit anxious about using them. Our hunch is that once people try them out in a low-risk way, through car sharing for example, electric vehicle adoption will go up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAvailability is paramount to wider EV adoption and at the Quebec Electric Vehicle Association (AVEQ), and we think that car sharing through Turo is a great way to make more EVs available to more drivers,\u201d said Simon-Pierre Rioux, president of the AVEQ. \u201cOur members know that trying an EV is the best way for drivers to understand its benefits. So, with this partnership, we expect more EV models will be offered throughout the province by our members on Turo,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hosts in Quebec are already ahead of the curve when it comes to electric vehicles. Today, Turo guests can choose from a wide selection of electric vehicles<\/a>. Over 5% of vehicles listed in Quebec are electric \u2014 that\u2019s five times the provincial average for electric cars on Quebec\u2019s roads today. Turo hosts have supported 1,300 trips with electric vehicles in Quebec since launching in the province, totalling over 70,000 hours of shared electric vehicle use. The most popular EVs on Turo, to date, are the Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model X, and Nissan Leaf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doubling or even tripling that number is the next stop on the road towards a more sustainable car sharing community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
