Aussie icon Nedd Brockmann has announced his beloved choccy van Ronda will be available for Aussie fans to book from 31 Jan – 1 Feb on Turo, the world’s largest peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace.
The 2024 NSW Young Australian of the Year Nominee, marathon runner and former sparky has just become one of Turo’s newest hosts and will be handing over his keys directly to the first guest who finds Ronda on Turo for only $100AUD per day.

Who is Nedd Brockmann?
Nedd Brockmann is a beloved Australian icon from Forbes, a town within Central West NSW, Australia. He is best known as an electrician turned endurance athlete who made headlines as ‘the man who ran from Perth to Sydney’, achieving the run across Australia in just over 46 days (and all at the age of 23). This extraordinary feat covered nearly 4000km, averaging over 80km a day – as a result, Nedd’s incredible effort raised a remarkable $2.5 million for homeless charity Mobilise.
Nedd’s other achievements include running 50 marathons in 50 days and raising nearly $100K for the Red Cross.

Nedd’s Record Run
Nedd Brockmann’s record run happened in 2022, when Nedd ran 4000 km across Australia and raised more than $2 million for charity. Having credited choccy milk for getting him across the finish line in Bondi, he has since launched his own chocolate milk brand that gives back to the homeless and has promoted the new business by retracing the route of his famous run from Perth to Sydney in a milk van named Ronda.

The Nedd Brockmann route: Perth to Sydney
The Nedd Brockmann route started at Cottesloe Beach in Perth, and ended at Bondi Beach in Sydney, in an emotional finish where more than 10,000 people welcomed him home. As a result of Nedd’s relentless focus, he ran over 80km a day in order to complete the 4000km (2500 mile) route in 47 days.

Nedd Brockmann’s beloved choccy van, ‘Rhonda’
Rhonda is the name of Nedd Brockmann’s beloved chocolate milk van – it was this van in which Nedd retraced his Perth to Sydney run route.
Those who are interested in booking Ronda (and meeting Nedd) will need to do the following:
- Download the Turo app
- Search for the 2013 Volkswagen Caddy in Sydney between 31 Jan and 1 Feb
- Guests can further refine their search by selecting ‘Volkswagen’ under the ‘vehicle make’ filter
Brockmann will hand-deliver Ronda to the guest, take them for a run and a drive around Sydney, complete with a few of Nedd’s famous choccy milks.
“I’ve been blown away by the support and how much people loved my choccy milk van, Ronda, and I’m stoked to list her exclusively on Turo for guests to book,” said Brockmann. “Driving across the country was a way to say thanks to everyone who supported me along the run and I can’t wait to give people a chance to drive Ronda themselves while raising more money for Aussies experiencing homelessness.”

Meet Nedd Brockmann in Bondi
To celebrate Ronda’s romance with Turo, Brockmann will be showing up at Sydney’s Bondi beach and taking over North Bondi Surf Club from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. AEDT on 9 December to run with the community. For every 1 kilometre that participants run on a treadmill alongside Brockmann, Turo will offer A$50 in Turo credit as well as donate A$50 to Nedd Brockmann supported charity We Are Mobilise – which is pioneering programs to put funding directly into the hands of those experiencing homelessness.
“This celebration marks one year of Turo being in Australia and we can’t think of a more perfect way to celebrate than partnering with an Australian icon like Nedd to help his fans hit the road,” said Turo Australia Managing Director Tim Rossanis. “What makes the celebration even more meaningful is being able to support Nedd’s mission of combatting homelessness by getting the community together to raise money.”
