Guidelines

A few simple rules: - I have included all-weather floor mats in the cabin, the trunk, and the frunk, and I hope that you get to spend some time in the sun and surf while you are here! If you do get excessive sand in the car, especially on the seats, you take a minute to clean up before returning the vehicle. - Absolutely NO SMOKING in the car. Turo's policies on this are strict, and smoking in the car can get BOTH of us banned from Turo, so please don't do that. - There are multiple levels of Autopilot and Full Self-Driving available to you on this car, and I encourage you to use them if you are comfortable! BUT remember that YOU are responsible for everything that happens to the vehicle while it is in your care. Even when Full Self-Drive is enabled, you have to stay aware of the road and give the steering wheel nudges when prompted. If you are looking at your phone or ignoring the prompts, the car may revoke your FSD privileges. I retain the right to charge incidentals if you give the car a poor safety record (Tesla keeps track of dangerous use of FSD). - You have to have fun! I listed this car to share the joy of owning a Tesla. The first Tesla I drove was on Turo. I hope you enjoy it immensely and have a ton of fun!

FAQs

  • How do I know when the right time to charge is?

If you can, charge every evening! If you don't have a charger at your hotel, try charging up over dinner. Charging up can be less than an hour at a supercharger, or 1-3 hours at other "fast" charging stations. Most of the time, I keep it charged to around 70% or 200mi of range, to give me flexibility in my daily excursions. ❗Pro tip: always put your destination in the Tesla's navigation. This will help with Autopilot and the car will tell you if you need to stop to charge, and will add Supercharger stops into your trip automatically. Never look for a gas station again!

  • How do I charge a Tesla?

Depending on your travel plans, there are a number of ways to charge during your trip. Here are my recommendations: 1. Check with your hotel or airbnb to see if there is destination charging available, as this will be the most hassle free and most usually free of charge. This is the EV dream! Wake up every day with a full charge. 2. Check for Tesla Superchargers along your trip. There are 3-4 around, depending on where you are headed, with the closest being in Gulf Breeze. Superchargers are intended to help you charge up rapidly along your trip, and are very simple to use (just back-in to the charging spot and plug in). Any charges that you incur from superchargers will be billed to you as an incidental after the trip. 2a. There are two DC Fast Chargers in Pensacola (downtown and on N Davis), the *big* adapter works for those CCS chargers! 3. Look for Electrify America or Chargepoint charging stations around. There is an adapter for these chargers in the center console. 4. If you're in a pinch, there is also a charging adapter for standard 110v and 220v outlets, but 220v are rarely accessible from a driveway and 110v will take a long time to charge up. Only use this if you are in a pinch! It may take all night to charge up enough to get to a more reliable charger.
