No one met me to pick up the car. The host wasout of town and allegedly their son was going to meet me. I reached out and was instructed to drive a car with a key in the glove box. Never once did a person greet me to pick up the vehicle or communicate how the process works. I stated that it was my first time using the service. The car provided originally was completely dead. The interior lights didn’t even switch on. Luckily the host had another vehicle available and I took that one, now well behind schedule. I noticed the brakes weren’t great immediately, but I needed to get on the road and could make it work. Nearing the end of my trip I realized that the front 2 tires were completely bald. You could see the wear strip. My drive home was supposed to be rain the entire time. The only options were to try and find a one-way rental on a holiday weekend. Pass. It is outrageous that Turo does not regularly check on the condition on the vehicles being provided by hosts. This should never have been permitted. The host tried to say that the car was in poor condition because they were out of town for a few weeks and “couldn’t check on it” when clearly the car has been in unsafe condition for months if not years. It was just plain negligence. The combination of the bald tires and bad brakes in the rain made me so stressed out. The car was sliding everywhere and honestly I’m lucky to be alive. The only thing I have to say that is positive about this experience is that I managed to get a refund. I doubt I will ever use this company again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Thank you for your feedback. We acknowledge that the tires were not at 100% when the vehicle returned from its previous booking. They have since been replaced. The brakes were checked and are in good condition. Unfortunately, this guest did not raise any concerns during the trip and only voiced dissatisfaction after returning the vehicle, which was found with significant interior damage. We’ve since cleaned and steam-pressed it. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The car was clean and the pick up location was convenient. The host was great at responding to any questions I had! The car ran a little rough but got me where I needed to go and back without any problems
